Our program is based on Dr. Chacko’s legacy of providing care. A prescription drug costing $5 a dose should not cost $400 for its use.
US Federal courts have ruled that the practice of medicine is governed by the state. A physician advertising use of a drug for off-label use is a violation of federal law. There is a court case that states advertising for discussion of off-label use is legal. Doctors can prescribe off-label medicine to treat depression, anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD, OCD, and other mental health-related conditions.
This is the heart of the program. When you contact RIVER Foundation it is for discussing the use of ketamine for scientific purposes. If during the discussions a person desires to try ketamine, RIVER Foundation has a list of physicians who will provide an office visit and if appropriate prescribe ketamine. These physicians will accept a referral. Simple and legal.
If your physician determines that you’re a good fit for ketamine therapy, you’ll be prescribed sublingual ketamine tablets, which are placed under your tongue or between your cheek and gums. RIVER can provide education.
Mindbloom conducted research with over 1000 people treating them with ketamine at home. Ketamine was proven safe for at-home use. ” The combination of strong and rapid effects with very small numbers of adverse events suggest that at-home sublingual ketamine therapy is an important avenue for overcoming long-standing barriers to depression and anxiety treatment, safely and conveniently.” (quote from Mindbloom study)
